Bailey Cook

Bailey Cook is a passionate teacher of voice, piano, and early childhood music in the Twin Cities metro who strives to meet students where they are and build upon their strengths and weaknesses. During her time as a student at Iowa State University, she was an active member of Cantamus Women’s Choir, Vice President of Ritual for Sigma Alpha Iota – Sigma Lambda Chapter, Assistant Director of the Ames Children’s Choirs, private voice and piano instructor, and Research Assistant in Music Education for Dr. Christina Svec. Over the summer of 2018, Bailey and Dr. Svec presented their meta-analysis on music aptitude at the International Conference on Music Perception and Cognition in Graz, Austria. Bailey continues to use research to guide and adapt her teaching for students’s individual needs. After graduating summa cum laude from Iowa State with a degree in Vocal Music Education, she moved to Minneapolis to teach elementary general music at a neighboring public school. She incorporates creativity and flexibility into her studio structure with each lesson including elements of technique, ear-training, music theory, movement, and a variety of repertoire.
