Bowen Liu started to play the piano when he was 6 years old. He studied at the University of Cincinnati (college-conservatory of music) where he received a “Master of Music”. Now, he is pursuing his DMA degree at the University of Minnesota, with the director of e-piano competition-Alexander Braginsky. He gets the full fellowship in school of music. His performance was described “Bowen Liu has shown an incredible ability to express himself through his instrument and can add a personal touch to the music without deviating from the composer writing.”
He has won The Prime Golden Bell Music Award of China the Copper prize in 2013. First prize and one of the three Grand Prize in “North International Piano Competition “in Europe. And the third prize in “2nd Richter International Piano Competition” in South Korea. The competition was supported by Nationalux. The member of the Alink-Argerich Foundation.
He has also played concerts in Beijing, Tianjin, Italy, the United States. He had the opportunity to work with the Symphony Orchestra to play piano concertos in Beijing during 2014 and 2015. In 2016, He played the “Rachmaninov third piano concerto for his graduate exam, and he won the “Best Performance Prize”. Except attending competitions, he always joined some music festivals. Such as The Amalfi music festival. The 10th Beijing international music festival. His teacher included Fang Zhang, Soyeon Kate Lee, Denis Evstuhin, and Alexander Braginsky.
Pianist Bowen Liu had been teaching students for more than six years. He is willing to help his students to love to play the piano. And he always encourages his students to play the piano as professionally as they can. Students are very happy to study with him.
