Born and raised in Belarus, I began my formal music education at the age of seven at Mogilev Musical School No. 1, majoring in piano. I continued my studies under the guidance of my mother, Galina Shatskaya, until entering the Mogilev State University, where I earned Master of Arts Degree in Teaching.
Always gravitating towards liberal arts, I professionally studied piano, art, literature, and linguistics. I was fortunate enough to apply all these skills over the course of my career. I started teaching in 1994, and to this day I can honestly say there is nothing else I would rather do. I am a believer in the individualized method of teaching in which content, instructional technology, and pace of learning are based upon the abilities and interest of each learner. My students consistently show outstanding results participating in competitions and festivals.
