Jacob Sergeant

Pianist Jacob Sergeant was 6 when he would come home from choir and work out the notes from his new anthem by ear on the piano. He was very interested in music and very persistent in his piano playing. He started taking piano lessons at the age of 8. His teachers include Sarah Kuzel-Leslie, Judy McGuire, Dr. Megan Wallace and Dr. Paul Wirth. When he was 12, he participated in the 2005 Minnesota Federation of Music Clubs Festival, in event piano, class MD1, in which he received Superior rating. He participated in the 2009 Minnesota International Piano-E Competition in which he was given a masterclass by pianist Nikolai Petrov. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music in 2019 from the University of Minnesota where he studied with Dr. Paul Shaw. He has a strong passion for teaching and sharing music with the community. Jacob joined Kramer’s School of Music in 2018.
