Ms. Zhiyi Ge is an active performer and teacher living in Minneapolis. She was interviewed by SDArt magazine “Her music is much mature than her actual age”. She was born into an artistic family in China, made her first solo recital debut at the age of 12 . She received second prize in Haiziman Eastern Youth Piano competition in 2005, and Silver award of Clara Schumann International piano competition in Germany 2017. She was invited to play solo and chamber music in several halls and venues including Italy Castelnuovo, Canada, Frankfurt am main and Hale Germany; She had her debut as soloist in Carnegie Hall in New York in 2018; She was the artist performer of Steinway Piano competition in Shandong at the same year.
Zhiyi holds Bachelor and Master degree in piano performance from Manhattan School of Music with President Award Scholarship, she has graduate diploma from New England conservatory; Ms. Ge enters DMA program in 2020 in University of Minnesota with full scholarship and teaching assistantship.
Ms. Ge has been teaching during her stays in New York City and Boston in the past eight years, she taught piano in a natural way of understanding and feeling how music offers different methods to students who grew up in different environments and culture to help them develop their techniques, musicality, getting a professional and progressive education. Zhiyi joined Kramer’s School of Music in 2021.
