Jackson Peters

Jackson Peters is a seasoned guitarist with extensive experience spanning over fifteen years and holds a degree in guitar performance from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. Since picking up guitar at 7 years old and electric bass at 10, he has studied with many notable figures such as Jeff Castleman (Duke Ellington), Bill Carrothers, Casey Palbicki, Steve Peplin, Andrew Wozniak, Solomon Parham, Patty Darling, Dave Hagedorn, among others who have helped to shape his musical understanding and interpretation.

Being eager to jump at any opportunity presented to him, Jackson has been able to perform alongside notable figures such as Broadway star Jessica Vosk and Nashville recording artist Doug Allen Nash. In addition to performing with many award-winning pit orchestras, both in academic and professional settings, he has also performed with other large ensembles including the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra. While keeping busy primarily with jazz combo work, you can often find him performing with some of the Twin Cities’ finest musicians such as Joel Shapira, Will Kjeer, Chris Bates, and Graydon Peterson.

Through the many teachers he has studied with, Jackson realizes that there is no universal approach to teaching that will work for every student. That is why he adopts a very personalized approach to his teaching strategy that considers his students’ goals and motivations for learning the instrument all while creating an engaging environment that keeps his students excited to learn music.
