Aleigha Glidewell

Growing up in southwestern Minnesota, Aleigha Glidewell was introduced to the violin at age 6 and began classical training two years later. She went on to receive multiple honors including All-State Orchestras in both Minnesota and South Dakota, multiple music scholarships, and received a Southwest Council for the Arts Grant in 2017. Aleigha has actively engaged in numerous chamber music festivals throughout southwest Minnesota, southeast South Dakota as well as in Germany. She has played with several orchestras including the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra, Southwest Minnesota Orchestra, and Austin Symphony Orchestra. Currently, Aleigha is pursuing her Bachelor’s of Music degree in violin performance at the University of Minnesota under the tutelage of Dr. Stephanie Arado.

Aleigha believes music is very important for the development of the young mind. She has taught privately for seven years and at Yinghua Academy for three years. Additionally, she was a mentor for the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra Sinfonia students and a substitute section leader. Aleigha is patient, compassionate, and creative. She aims to share the joy of music while helping students cultivate focus and dedication.
