David Introwitz-Williams

David is a pianist and musician based out of Minneapolis. He began piano lessons at age three under Russian classical concert pianists Viktor and Anna Polonsky in Dayton, Ohio. Upon moving to the Twin Cities, he developed an interest in jazz, electronic, and composition; he learned theory and improvisation in high school with renowned ensemble the Motion Poets. He holds an AFA with Honors in Music from North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park, where he studied under Drs. Heather MacLaughlin and Kevin Hobbs. Throughout his career, he has released music to great acclaim on several notable record labels, including Always Human Tapes and Æther Sound; premiered a piano work by contemporary composer Ryann Daisy Swimmer; and served as lead accompanist at Shepherd of the Hills Church in Edina. His favorite classical composers are Claude Debussy and J.S. Bach, and his repertoire also includes Robert Schumann and Ludwig van Beethoven. His teaching style emphasizes discovery and self-learning, utilizing the MMTA piano and theory curriculum.
