Anatoly Shapiro

Anatoly Shapiro, a classical guitarist, received his degree in guitar performance and pedagogy from the M. Mussorgsky St. Petersburg College of Music. Since graduation, he has worked as a soloist and accompanist at the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and Kiev Philharmonic Orchestra. He taught guitar at music colleges in Kiev and other schools in Kiev and Moscow. He recorded guitar music for television and radio. Since coming to United States twenty years ago, he taught guitar at music schools and as a private instructor. He performed at restaurants, jazz clubs, theaters and other venues across the Twin Cities area. He participated in the Guitaratone with the best guitarists in the state. Anatoly has taught guitar and performed in Russia, Ukraine and United States for the past 45 years. One of his best students, Daniel Volovets, is a very accomplished guitarist and performer in Minnesota. Anatoly joined Kramer’s School of Music in 2015.
