Wanchi Chang
Wanchi started playing the violin at the age of 5 and won his first competition when he was 8 years old. He was originally from Taiwan and moved to the States when he was 15. He received bachelor’s degree in violin performance from Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, master’s degree from University of Denver, and currently pursuing doctorate degree at University of Minnesota studying with Sally O’Reilly. Besides being a concertmaster at De Anza College Orchestra and Lamont Symphony Orchestra throughout his studies, he also performed numerous concerts as a soloist with orchestras. While being a passionate performer, he also loves to teach. Being both a student and a violin teacher, Wanchi understands what the students need from the teacher. He is very good at identifying obstacles of his students and providing solutions that will guide them onto the correct path while keeping their own characteristics in the music.
