Ching-Wen Chen

Ching-Wen Chen is a passionate and dedicated musician with years of experience nurturing students of various ages and skill levels. She began playing the piano at the age of five before discovering her passion for the clarinet at eleven, developing a deep appreciation for musical expression and technique. This early foundation inspired her lifelong commitment to both performance and teaching.

As a versatile musician, Chen has performed in various ensembles and collaborated with fellow artists in Taiwan and the United States. Her experiences at prestigious music festivals—including the Domaine Forget International Music Festival, MusicAlp International Music Academy, Magic Clarinet Music Festival, Xian International Music Festival—have enriched her artistic insights and refined her interpretive skills.

Chen’s teaching philosophy centers on fostering a love for music while building a solid technical foundation. She believes in guiding students to discover their unique musical voice through personalized instruction, creative exploration, and goal-oriented practice. With a patient and encouraging approach, she strives to inspire confidence and musical growth in her students.

Chen holds Bachelor of Music degree from National Taiwan Normal University and Master of Music degree at New England Conservatory and is currently completing her Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Minnesota.
